Artist Biography
Born in the small ranch town of Alturas, California, Rebecca Lynn Parker discovered her passion for painting and drawing at the tender age of five. This early interest blossomed into a lifelong obsession, leading her to pursue formal studies in fine arts at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, Alaska. She focused on painting, fiber arts, ceramics, and printmaking there. During her time in Juneau, Rebecca served as the head art instructor for the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council from 1996 to 1998 and was deeply inspired by the flora and vibrant colors of the rainforests, which continue to influence her current work.
She resides in Poulsbo, Washington, with her husband and two children. Nestled in the woods, her art studio serves as a creative haven where she and her students can explore and create their own art and pottery.
